I'm not too familiar with XenForo either, but my theory then and now is that one of the following is true:
  1. He bought another license with a fake name or an LLC not publicly affiliated with himself, or
  2. He had one of his buddies buy a license for him, or
  3. He knows someone who has a license and is getting the updates from that person, or
  4. Piracy.
I believe number 3 is plausible because XenForo is a source-available product. It would be difficult to implement DRM on that.

Other significantly less likely theories:
  1. It was never revoked in the first place.
  2. It was revoked but @Null successfully appealed.

I'd like to point out that @Kenneth Erwin Engelhardt also had his license revoked.
